The history of the Perelada winery and Celler 1923
The name Celler 1923 comes from 1923, the year Miquel Mateu i Pla founded the Perelada winery, a hundred years before this wine bar existed.

1923 is when the winery began, not the wine bar
In 1923, Miquel Mateu i Pla founded the Perelada winery. A century later, the group built a new winery on the same estate: designed by RCR Arquitectes, partly underground and 18,200 m² in size, it took in its first grapes at the 2020 harvest and opened in 2022. Celler 1923 is in the old farmhouse, next to reception and the wine shop, at the estate entrance beside the castle. The house wine list includes Perelada 1923, the centenary wine that carries the same year in its name.
The food
Empordà cooking led by Paco Pérez
Celler 1923 brings back Empordà cooking as it was made in 1923, under the culinary direction of Paco Pérez, with a cheese board selected by Toni Gerez. Each menu is built dish by dish around the house wines, which the sommelier talks you through glass by glass.
